He's Not His Dad
But he should star in a (good) Western where he is the lead sometime. Call back to his old man's Sergio Leone days.

shareHe needs to step outta his father's shadow, or he will become nothing more than a cheap caricature of Clint. What Scott needs to do is take on more serious roles where we can see his acting talents and prove he is more than Clint Eastwood's son.
Westerns are not popular anymore, and roles like his what his father did (quiet, moody, manly, not speaking much etc..) are not "in" anymore. The world has kinda moved on from that.
You're not wrong, but I'm speaking purely from the standpoint where we are at now. Scott doesn't seem to be trying very hard to showcase his acting capabilities, and in all truth, he may NOT be more than Clint Eastwood's son. If he doesn't do what you are saying, he's gonna disappear completely unless he goes for a desperate shot of imitating his old man.
"We're not too old for this sh*t!" -Riggs and Murtaugh, 'Lethal Weapon 4' (1998)
I disagree.
Scott Eastwood just needs to work with BETTER Directors like Sir Ridley Scott or his father Clint.
The MANLY and FEW WORDS roles are still very popular:
1.- Russell Crowe in GLADIATOR.
2.- Leonardo DiCaprio in THE REVENANT.
3.- Ryan Gosling in DRIVE.
SIR RIDLEY SCOTT, SCOTT FREE PRODUCTIONS, WRAITHS OF THE BROKEN LAND, THE CARTEL, etc....
Oh, come on, he couldn't act in any of those roles even if his life depended on it. He is completely talentless when it comes to acting.
