A new, sans Joss Whedon movie, might actually be good, if Candice Accola is the new Buffy Summers.

Yes, I totally agree. Let me first say that I am a fan of the television series and I don't like the idea of making a movie without Joss. However it is inevitable because the studio has the rights to the character of Buffy. So whether we like it or not a Buffy movie will be made without any of the tv cast. The only thing that makes me think that this movie can be decent is if they cast really good. Candice Accola is the perfect choice. We've seen that she can do comedy and drama on The Vampire Diaries and that she is a really good actress. Also let me say that I am both a Candice fan and a Sarah Michelle Gellar fan. I adored Sarah as Buffy but let us not forget that she didn't originate Buffy. I know a lot of hardcore fans are like nobody can be Buffy but Sarah, but like I said there's going to be a new Buffy whether we like it or not. The new Buffy movie wants Buffy to be a teen and Sarah just can't pull off being a teen anymore. So I basically rambled lol but yeah I think Candice would be the best choice.

shareErr, Candice is already 23 ... really too old for playing a 15, at most 16 year old girl.
Also, a Buffy movie without Whedon will probably suck anyway, so leave Candice out of it, please.

She's already playing a 17 year old on Vampire Diaries. Besides Sarah was in her twenties too when she started playing 16 year old Buffy.

Dont get me started on how unbelievable the ages on Vampire Diaries are.
A guy who is 23 plays a 15 year old. Its not funny.
And SMG was supposed to be 16, yes, but in her case it was halfway believable, because she still had some baby fat in the first season of Buffy.
