You can't see the forest for the trees. You said you had covid and it wasn't a big deal. But to the one million who died from covid in this country alone, it was a big deal, and that was what Fauci was trying to prevent with all his warnings about the dangers of spreading it to the more vulnerable. That led to the mask mandates, the social distancing, and the lockdowns.

BTW, countries all over the world were doing the same things, some, like China, more harsh than the U.S. They were listening to their own Doctor Faucis who were preaching their common sense advice, rather than your ego-centric nonsense.
