Marvel & Sony: wake up and make him your next Spiderman!!

I've been enamored with this kid since way back at the very start of the American Shameless. I had never even heard of him before, but dude's got skills. And I remember thinking even when they were getting crewed up for the Amazing Spiderman reboot a few years ago that I would've loved to have seen him get a chance, if not for Peter than at least Harry Osbourne. I love Andrew Garfield, but geez talk about someone not looking even remotely realistic that this kid was still technically a high school senior.

Anyway, now there's the news coming out today that the long rumored front runner Asa Butterfield is totally out of the mix, and that the high ups for both Marvel and Sony are having major clashes on who they want to be their brand new Peter Parker aka Spiderman. Obviously it's someone who will now be in the role for many years, between featuring in the MCU and other solo Spidey movies thru Sony. And they're full on shooting Civil War as we speak, the movie where our new Spidey would be making his first appearance.

Mind you, I still have virtually zero hope that Jeremy Allen White could score the role, as I've never heard his name within 100 miles of any of these stories. And I hadn't realized til I saw here now on his IMDB page that I guess his real age is a bit of a secret, I would guess he's at least 23, but I think he could realistically still play a high school senior at this point.
