Both excellent, putting a fresh spin on well-worn material. Slight edge to Lady Bird as I think its genre is harder to pull off this well, and for giving us one of the funniest and most perceptive mother-daughter dynamics in recent American cinema.

Lady Bird is an original tale. Little Women has been done far too many times already. Hands down to Lady Bird.
