Ridiculous that she is not nominated for best director

Little Women was a fantastic film and among the very best of the year and they even put it up for best picture among other 5 nominations. Make no sense why they didn't nominate Greta for best director.

Little Women was good, but not better directed than the films nominated for best director. It's not ridiculous that she is not nominated for best director. She didn't deserve to be nominated and that is why she wasn't.

nah. and her husband should get some credit on these projects.

What did Noah Baumbach do on Little Women?

I like Little Women, but I don't see why there's been so much uproar about her not getting a Best Director nod cause I think the guys who got the nod were more deserving imo. You telling me she deserves it over Sam Mendes for 1917, Bong Joon Ho for Parasite, Scorsese for The Irishman, Tarantino for OUATIH, and Philips for Joker. I have to say no. She's still young and if she keeps up getting better as a director then she get plenty more chances to get a Best Director nod.

Just the feminists looking to get attention that "Hollywood is agaisnt women" crap. Even Gerwig doesn't seem bothered by it.

Kind of surprised they didn't just put her in too shut everyone up about it. Even though she wouldn't have much of a shot at winning. Of course the question becomes who to bump out.

Mendes: No, he's probably going to win.
Bong Joon Ho: No, the only non white and foreign nominee.
Tarantino: No, Hollywood loves movies about itself. Even if they aren't flattering portrayals.

Phillips is possible, since he made a movie about a disenfranchised white male, and it still mostly known for doing raunchy comedies. Scorsese is also possible since they would want to hold it against him that his movie was primarily seen on Netflix.
