Greta question

There seem to be Greta fans here who know her, so I'll ask my question.

Did she really grow up in Sacramento?

Here's why I ask. Before "Greenburg" I knew nothing of her. As we watched the movie I told my wife, "I believe she is an Eastern European actress playing an American", because when you listen to her speech rhythms and how she pronounces certain words it sounds a lot like someone who grew up in Europe. Sort of like Martina Navratilova, the tennis player or maybe the German actress Franka Potente of "Run Lola Run" and the "Bourne" movies.

Can anyone comment on why Greta seems to have what sounds to me like a European flavor to her accent?
