I just watched Arthur. Omg, How Does She Get Roles??
Her looks to skills ratio is way off. I'm not saying she's ugly, she has a bit of a man shaped face, and her top teeth look like a denture plate that's falling out, other than that she's not all that bad looking. It's just that usually when an actress is that horrible, it doesn't matter because she's gorgeous (think Pamela Anderson), but that's just not the case here. I'm totally baffled. I just don't get it. It was just so disappointing, the rest of them were doing so well, especially Helen Mirren, loved her as Hobson! It just wasn't fair to them to cast her in this movie at all, or to us. Greta Gerwig seemed like she was on a stage in high school play, too loud, inappropriate emotions, monotone, stiff, just bad across the board. There's no way she could have read for the part, and if she HAD read for the part, there's no way she could have gotten it, but somehow she did. Will someone please tell me how?
