I don't think she's a "blonde bombshell" as she was referred to in the writeup on the IMDB homepage, but I think she's plenty attractive to play the female lead in a sitcom.

They may be trying to replicate the success Zooey Deschanel acheived in New Girl. Similarly quirky actresses.

She's a little bit "old" because they can't make so many seasons with her like they did with HIMYM. Maybe the producers know the show will not last long?
