Morons who say she isn't White

Right now, I'm arguing with idiots on other threads who seriously claim she isn't White. She is of unmixed Spanish descent. Latino is a culture, not a race. Spaniards and people of Spanish descent are White.

reply

Sometimes there is a very open interpretation of what is white, but yes, she is white.

reply

She is white ... but without the context I fail to see why is that important ...

reply

We need to determine the superior race, of course.

reply

I know right...

If her name was Ana Smith, and she had an American accent nobody would even question if she is white

reply

You can't go by looks. Gabrielle Reece is half black and considers herself biracial.

reply

I doubt she is "half black". More precisely she is:

"Reece's father was Afro-Trinidadian, which would make her about one-eighth black"

Genetics are interesting.

I found the source of your quote which isn't accurate. Her grandfather was black so she's 1/4 black. She dyes her dark hair:

"Reece continued, “My grandfather was Black, and my grandmother was White. A lot of my family are still in Trinidad.”

Reece would go on to joke with me about how the young White women she played volleyball with were always surprised when they would find out that she is, in fact, mixed. But she made it clear to me that there were always people who could tell she was different. Black women to be specific. She cited her stature (she’s 6’3″) as a dead giveaway.

“Women of color can always tell,” Reece laughed. “They’re the ones who ask me.”

Anyway, I know people who are half black who look similar to her racially. Like you wrote, genetics are interesting.

Those twins need to write a book.

Her dad:

he doesn't look black at al, not even half black, lol

Saying that she is mixed, sure. Saying that she is black ... is a stretch.

"I found the source of your quote which isn't accurate. Her grandfather was black so she's 1/4 black."

And the source for your claim? And of course a source that will NOT call him black when he is half black (to be fair that happens in USA a lot, people that are half - half are "black" - like Obama. Or 1/4 black ...

I would be interested too a see paternity test for those twins. Maybe they are the product of an orgy, hahaha :D
(hope it was evident that it was a joke, mostly :D )

reply

The source is Gabby herself.

I live in a very diverse area where interracial relationships are common. A person can have one black parent and look white. I know a few dark-skinned black people who have white kids.

BTW, it's common for Hispanics to intermarry racially. For instance, black Cubans marrying white Cubans or marrying nonHispanics of a different race.

During slavery and Jim Crow, Gabby and her children would LEGALLY be considered black in the U.S. and enslaved and subject to discrimination and segregation laws.

Her dad looks black to me, but he's fair-skinned. Ditto Gabby especially when her hair is dark, but looks white when her hair is blond. There are very fair-skinned black people with two black parents, also.

reply

White is an adjective, not a nationality, therefore shouldn't be capitalized. Politicizing skin colour is just weird. So stop.

reply

White is an ethnicity just like Black and should be capitalized. Race is much more than skin colour. In fact it's even more than ethnicity.

reply

You must be joking.

reply

100% serious.

reply

And I agree with you. I. Am. White. And so is she.

reply

this person does not know what ethnicity means or know how to make a joke

reply

White....not ethnicity.....ethnicity is much more particular

OP is wrong, again. She's half Cuban. Most Cubans are mixed.

reply

Read her wikipedia page. She is of Spanish descent. Plenty of Cubans are unmixed.

reply

She took a DNA test. She's mixed.

reply

Source? How much?

reply

BTW, Gabrielle Reece is half black.
https://www.gabriellereece.com/making-it-to-15-years-of-marriage/

You know zip about genetics. No surprise.

reply

Who the F is Gabrielle Reece and why do you bring her up? Where is the source Ana De Armas is mixed? I know more about genetics than you. You claim race does not exist.

reply

Look at Reece's photo. You can't determine race by just appearance. You also know nothing about Spain's history since they were conquered by the Moors.

You believe blacks are subhuman. And white and black are ethnic groups. You know nothing.

reply

Again with the misdirection with this Reece girl. Where is the source Ana De Armas is mixed which you claimed?

I have looked into Spanish genetics and they cluster very closely with continental Europe and VERY far away from Northwest Africa. The Moorish occupation didn't leave much genetic legacy.

Blacks and Whites are ethnic groups. Blacks consider themselves a people. So do Whites.

reply

LOL!

reply

LOL all you want, you lost the argument.

reply

He is right. Whatever a person race is ... you cannot determine another unrelated person's race based on that.

What? Because Reece looks white but she is mixed that means that I'm mixed or black???

And no, white and black are races. Although "ethnic group" is quite dynamic defined:

reply

So we need to take DNA tests to "check our privilege" officially?

reply

Your logic doesn't follow if she's part of the portion that isn't mixed.

reply

Speaking strictly about skin color, yes, she is white. I have mostly Northern European ancestry and her skin is even whiter than mine. Her ethnicity isn't necessarily northern European however. I know a couple, a middle eastern man and a half-black woman, that have four children, two boys and two girls. The boys are very dark skinned with dark brown eyes. They look like Berbers from North Africa. The girls however, have very white skin and bluish eyes. With the first daughter, I suspected the mother had an affair with some super-white guy, but after the second daughter, I realized it was just some genetic quirk. Somewhere in their shared ancestry, there is some blue-eyed and white skinned person and those genes are presenting in their daughters.

Moors invaded Southern Europe centuries ago including Spain and Italy.

Have you taken a DNA test? It's only good for 200 years, but better than nothing.

reply

Who cares?

reply

Those trying to pit us against each other. Ever heard of identity politics?

reply

Why do you care? Why waste time arguing about something so pointless?

reply

He has a history of making thinly veiled racist comments
