Why was he not more famous after Spartacus?

He died? What happened?

I just watched Spartacus today and I cannot stop. Into Ep.5 now and I thought he was super good. And I wonder who is this guy, never heard of him.

Edit: I just googled. So unfortunate! Dang.

He was brilliant as Spartacus the replacement (Liam McIntryre) does a good job but he’s not as engaging as Whitfield was.
