Director drops out of The Crow, Luke may follow
As part of the massive worldwide promotion for The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, Luke Evans was in town and we were lucky enough to have a chat about his role as Bard the Bowman, facing off against dragons and many other things.
The full interview will be live soon, but at the very end we asked him about the long mooted reboot of The Crow, which had not long ago failed to get off the ground when Bradley Cooper was attached to star. Evans had since signed up to the project, but it looks likely that history is about to repeat itself.
When we asked him if The Crow was still progressing, he said the following:
"It’s not, no. No at the minute The Crow is not, not for me, I think it’s a little… I mean I’m sure it’s going to go ahead at some point, but I have other projects that are greenlit and ready to go and projects that I’m very interested in and you know, I can’t wait much longer! [laughs]"
More’s the pity that whatever issues are happening behind the scenes, they’ve halted any progress and as such, the very busy Mr Evans is being scheduled out of the project.
This comes off the back of news that director F Javier Gutierrez has become the latest to drop out of The Crow reboot. Deadline reports that Corin Hardy is being linked with taking on the job of helming the movie. It may well be that Hardy's first job is to find a new leading actor...
