Every time he is around her, he acts a little bit queasy,
if he silently adores her. Especially in the "behind the
scenes footages" on the web he seems sometimes adrift
when she talks.

I think the article said they are cousins?.
If true they probably would feel more comfortable around each other, than non related actors would and feel more at ease,in clowning about and being "silly" around each other.
Perhaps Matt,( although he is the star of the show) is being kind, and consider
ate toward her. By being quiet and letting her speak,and wants Karen to have her moment in the spot light too.

Perhaps you're thinking of the girl who played little Amelia in season 5--the reason she makes such a believable young Amy is because she is Karen Gillan's cousin.
But no, Karen and Matt aren't related.
