Westworld over acting

He's awful in this like a hammy actor over acting to the point that his character is laughable

He's a wonderful actor. I suspect the director instructed him to play Logan this way.

I agree that's he's very OTT in Westworld and usually a much better actor, but I'm going to blame the fact that his character is very poorly written as a one-note, stock douchebag. Honestly, I don't know how else he COULD play such a flimsy character.
The intricate mystery plotting on this show is good, but the characters are all pretty terribly written and shallow across the board.

I like the characters.

His acting is perfect actually if you consider his character. He is playing an LA trust fund douchbag who is generally obnoxious. Then gos to Westworld theme park to enact his personal vision of a villain from the movies. Ben's character isn't the villian, it is his character playacting villian. Which would be OTT.
