shareI disagree on all counts, but especially the "speaks Japanese" part (see my thread below).
It's funny how Munn never even claimed fluency in the language until after The Newsroom episode where her character spoke Japanese. By the way, is it not strange that her character speaks better Japanese than she does? And is it not odd that she barely spoke Japanese during her appearances on Ninja Warrior? She only spoke short, travel guide phrases. In fact, those are all I've been able to find her speaking (along with first year Japanese class "shopping" phrases).
The only other instances are short sentences that are obviously pre-scripted, and even those she goes through slowly and haltingly, without any of the "intonation" my Japanese professor drilled into our heads.
I wish Munn would stop misleading people on this point. It's creepy.
I have read some article about her that She had lived in japan for some years. How about that?

That's why I referenced the previous thread I started: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1601397/board/thread/231960107
I grew up in the same place in Japan she did:
Here are some things a lot of interviewers don't understand about "growing up in Tokyo" versus "growing up on a military base in Tokyo" -- and Munn isn't too keen to correct them, which is a smart PR move:
It's not like living in Tokyo. It's essentially living in an American city that was plopped down in the country of Japan, with a fence surrounding it. It takes an effort to interact with the people, places, and culture of Japan -- an effort that sadly not a majority of us seemed to make.
Maybe dog is like fox to them, "She's a doooggg"
