THREE star vehicles in 2017 ???

THE ZOOKEEPER'S WIFE (Niki Caro) had been already completed and confirmed for a March release
WOMAN WALKS AHEAD (Susanna White) is already in post-production so should be ready for 2017 release
MOLLY'S GAME (Aaron Sorkin) will start shooting in two weeks and is scheduled to wrap in January so it has a good shot at a year-end release, as well.

Those three on top of her supporting role in Xavier Dolan's latest. Should be another great year for her.

She's a consistently excellent performer, too. Let's hope they spread out their release dates so that they all don't come out during the same awards season (again).

Well, this year she was supposed to have two likely Oscar vehicles: The Zookeeper´s wife and Miss Sloane. It seems the first test screenings for the former didn´t go well and the release of the film was postponed to March 2017 (an awful date when it comes to Awards buzz and real chances), so I think we could rule out The Zookeeper´s wife for next Oscar Season as well, although the film sounded very Oscar-y on paper, I think it´s not gonna happen.

Her actual Oscar Ticket for next Oscar Season (February 2018) is Molly´s Game, Aaron Sorkin directorial debut. This year´s Oscar season is really crowded with Emma Stone, Natalie Portman, Annette Bening, Amy Adams, Meryl Streep, Isabelle Huppert, Ruth Negga and many more, almost impossible to get a slot, although it seems she´s garnering raves for her work in Miss Sloane.

But 2018 Oscar Season doesn´t seem to be less busy, projects by Glenn Close (super due), Judi Dench, Helen Mirren, Kate Winslet, Jennifer Lawrence, Frances Mcdormand, Saorsie Ronan, Brie Larson... not easy to get a spot either.

On the other hand, I think she´s risking a bit of overexposure making so many films back to back, but undoubtfully she has one of the most interesting careers.

Test screenings for The Zookeeper's Wife were exceptional, but the film was completed rather late. Focus Features already had three awards films scheduled for fall. Zookeeper is being released as a major motion picture nationwide (and not as an art house film) in March. It would have gotten lost if they had released it this fall. But yes, March is probably too early to be an awards contender next year unless people go nuts over it, which is possible. Beware pronouncements like the one above, by someone who clearly has no true information.
