Has anyone else seen those pictures of Alex and his beautiful family on the beach in Hawaii? I love them. I think they look so happy and in love, and his baby is so cute. I guess with two parents like that the baby is bound to be beautiful. LOL. I also think that they are married cause it sure looks like she is wearing a engagemnet ring and wedding band to me. I am so happy for him.

shareWhether or not they are married has been debated on several sites since SOTB4. In one of the interviews Alex did at SOTB he said something like "I married into a Hawaiian family". He has also made a few other references to being married, in one more recent interview he referred to Spike (Malia's son)as his stepson. And I remember reading an account of someone who went to the women's self defense seminar Alex did with Egan Inoue in November that at the end when he was taking pictures and signing autographs for the ladies at the seminar he said something like "I have to get going, I have a wife and kids at home."
I kind of think that Alex and Malia had a small private ceremony over the summer. It really wouldn't be that difficult for them to keep it out of the media if they just had close family/friends and an officiant present. I mean Malia was 7 months pregnant before it was announced that they were expecting, and that wasn't even an announcement so much as the media was tipped off and his reps confirmed it.
Whether or not they are married, it isn't really any of our business, Alex and Malia and the ones they are close to are the only people that need to know that information. And based on Alex's comments, even if they aren't legally married, in his eyes Malia is his wife. I doubt we will ever find out for sure unless Alex is asked directly.
As long as Alex and Malia are happy together, and they really seem to be, I am happy for them.
I agree with emdoug32. I also read somewhere that someone in Hawaii saw her a several months ago with the engagement ring, but now looking at it it looks like a set of an engagement ring set it a wedding band. But if no one asks I don't think they are going to announce it.
As for Saxon yankeerebel-919-251948, he is a teenager, he most likely is hang out with friends and wants nothing to do with hanging out with the family. Just like any typical teenager. Even if his dad is the most well known man on the island.

I do aree that it's likely they are married. But the things you say above that Alex has said doesn't necessarily mean they are actually married. They could be just common law. I do know a lot of people in long term relationships who actually aren't married that talk like Alex has above. It's very common.
I realize that his comments don't necessarily mean they are married, I just think it is odd that Alex is suddenly referring to Malia and Spike as his wife and stepson when before he has always very specifically called Malia "my partner" or "my girlfriend", and Spike has always been "Malia's son" or "my partner's son". I just think that his change in the way he refers to Malia and Spike hints strongly towards the possibility that they are married.
As I said in my earlier statement, whether they are legally married or not, based on his comments, in Alex's eyes Malia is his wife and they have formed a permanent family unit together.
Very few states today actually recognize common law marriages and I don't believe Hawaii is one that does unless it is from another state. My former co-worker and her husband have been together for like 25-30 years but are not actually married, yet they refer to each other as husband/wife and call each others families their in-laws, etc. but we do not live in a state that legally recognizes common law marriages.
