Competent...
I've seen a few of his movies. I don't like them. But that's not to say hes as bad director. He has a good eye for the camera, the films (mostly) flow well, and he makes memorable moments.
House of the Devil and the Sacrament are not good movies, but if Ti West gets as good writer, he has the talent to do better.
