never outshines her co-star

In the Longest Ride the focus was completely centered on Scott Eastwood and in the flop Tomorrowland Raffey Cassidy stole the show from her. Haven't seen her in a film where she wasn't completely and ultimately out-shined by her co-star and as a result I'm not sure how I feel about her as an actress. Saw her in other roles where I was equally unimpressed by her compared to her co-stars. Is she destined to constantly play high-school aged characters that also never stand out against her cast mates performances?

While I think she can be a good actress...I can't help but kind of agree with you. She does seem to have a problem keeping the spotlight. Even her actor boyfriend is out shining her at this point.

oh damn, I didn't even catch that. haha harsh. She been at this business for like 16 years and he only been at it for 5.

I have to agree too, she was really corny and overly-self aware in Tomorrowland, and I can't believe she's been acting for so long! 16 years! Raffey Cassidy was my favorite part of the movie and she's a kid, I guess acting's more of an innate talent.

I think she's amazing!

Yes. Or, she might play college-aged characters that do the same, unless Hollywood gives up on her sooner.

Sadly, I know exactly how I feel about her as an actress. She is not good. Her presence is kind of weak, but when it's strong(ish), she isn't a pleasure to watch.

You know how there are some actors you could watch do anything? Like, they could eat a slice of pie or sit staring at a lake and that would make for a half-decent movie? She is the opposite of that. She is unpleasant to watch.

Agree completely. In Longest Ride I thought that Mellissa Benoist completely stole outshined her and should have been the female lead. She also seems to small to be a lead actress.
