Hilarious in Easy A

Loved her in Easy A! Great film! Just picked up a copy today: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036TGSJ4/ref=nosim/?tag=sonypicturese-20

And kudos to Emma Stone on the GG nomination!

reply

She is very gorgeous and hilarious in Easy A. Wonderful actress

reply

Yeah, I actually thought she deserved the Golden Globe nomination (in the supporting category) more than Emma Stone did. She stole every scene she was in. I didn't even realize prior to that movie what a talented comedic actress she is.

reply

really? I mean... really?

From all of the supporting cast in the movie, you think she deserved to be a golden globe nominee? Is it a trend in this website to like the obscure hardly made an impact supporting actor?
My guess people only gravitate towards those actors, is to later have claim how they knew this actors work before they became so mainstream, right? I bet once they reach that success you were hoping they would, you would just ditch them and say "Oh she sold out. she's not the same Ally as I knew her from plus all her fans are weirdo and she's getting to much exposure." Before you say anything, I'm not psychic! I promise... I'm just really good at reading people.

reply

Good at reading people? Dream on. I can't identify with a single thing you ranted about in there.

Are you at all familiar with the concept of a "personal opinion"? I cannot relate to your preoccupation with the poses Aly strikes in photos, and you cannot relate to my appreciation of her performance in a movie - I say we are even.

reply

I'm familiar with personal opinion. I have an opinion that you're kind of in denial, and it's MY opinion therefore its personal one, am I right? I really can't relate to your appreciation... I assume you must find her beautiful, which she is, therefor your blinded to see that her true performance was just mediocre. Why in the love of god would she get a golden globe nominee? what exact scene did you see that you were like "Oh! she deserves this."?

I do have problem with the poses Aly chooses! Come on, Steven Spielberg and J.J Abram were in that premier. She wasn't even part of the movie and she behaved that way. It's ridiculous! Sorry, I can't imagine her ever winning a golden globe because she doesn't act like a respectable actress. However, as a popstar I think she's perfect.

reply

Please read my other posts on this message board. No, I do not find her beautiful. Besides, I am a woman and even if I did think she was beautiful, that would hardly cloud my judgment.
I am not a fan (I am not a fan of anybody, really), and I certainly don't think of her as some kind of role model - the very notion is beyond absurd.

I personally didn't love Easy A. I thought the movie was overrated. Or, rather, it was mildly entertaining until it started taking itself seriously. And the funniest part of the movie, in my opinion, were the scenes early on with Aly Michalka. After all, I certainly didn't see how Emma Stone deserved a nomination. I didn't think she was funny. (Btw, being funny and being a good actor aren't one and the same.)

That's my opinion, I am not imposing it on you.

reply

So you think Michalka should of won the golden globe nominee because she was funny? Even though the purpose of the golden globe is to award good actors. Maybe, Emma Stone was nominated because not only was she funny but when the scene required her to get emotional (The chamber scene where she confesses... You know the one) she did in a believable way.

Its very easy to hate a movie, especially one that everyone raves about. But lets look at Easy A... the premise was original, the writing was smart, and for the first time in a long while the female lead wasn't an IDIOT. As a woman, aren't you sick of seeing badly written female parts? Seriously, most men hate seeing a movie with a female lead yet Easy A was universally appealing to all gender. Not only was it entertaining to teens but even older generations liked it. That's very rare to find and that's why Emma Stone was nominated

So you can think its overrated, but tell me a teen comedy movie with a female lead (80's don't count) that's better? Timeline should be 90s- till now...

I hope you're not getting offended. I know it started off that way, but I'd just like to know what you think works or not in a movie.
