Hate for lucy

I was talking with some friends today about the show, and they all expressed hatred for lucy, either it was because of her character or it was either " she is a media whore" " why does she always have to be the front and center during cast interviews" one guy said during the teen choice awards lucy pushed troian out the way, i looked at the footage on youtube, it was more of a nudge, but it was enough to convince me. PLL has got to be the worst thing that's happened to her, the disdain for ezra and aria continues to rise, the dislike for lucy is on the rise, there was a woman who said " well she won a teen choice award" but the argument to that was that's the silly teens who only voted for her because of "ezria" and to be honest a teen choice award is pretty useless, like a MTV award or BET award

I don't understand how anyone could have a great amount of disdain for Lucy unless their lives revolved around PLL. Most actresses on shows like that never really go on to having Academy Award winning careers because they are typecast as television actors and rarely move beyond the genre where they are comfortable.

I mean there are some exceptions such as Hilary Swank who was on "Beverly Hills: 90210" for awhile and later went on to bigger and better things but most of the actors on shows like "90210" or "The O.C." or whatever are popular because they are on a hot show and once the show ends find themselves just part of the pack again finding work where they can usually as supporting cast on another show more geared towards adults than teenagers.

People should just enjoy the show for what it is instead of trying to nitpick and pull at every little thread trying to find something that will unravel.

Thats the thing about teen dramas, the fans revolve their life around it, so if they dont like your character, they dont like you, the same with soap opera fans, i recall a couple of years ago a friend of my aunts was over here for lunch, susan lucci was on tv, i believe it was an infomercial for some creme she slapped her name on, anyway the woman starts going off about how much she hates susan "she did this she did that" im like you know she didnt really do that right? that was her character on all my children? she repled " i still dont like her" =/

Lucy is the most famous member of the cast she has almost 500,000 followers than every body else in the cast on twitter.

im guessing thats some sort of facebook or twitter response? i dont have anything to do with those "social networks" im pretty sure most of those followers are teens anyway

I suppose hate for Lucy may be on the rise, but that's what comes with more fame. She's certainly gaining her fair share of supporters, too (if Twitter is any indication). From what I can tell based on interviews and her Twitter, she seems just as nice, genuine and down-to-earth as she ever has.

She definitely puts herself "out there" more than the other girls, but I wouldn't call her a media or fame whore. She's successfully doing what most people in the business strive for. I'm actually quite proud of her for getting her name around. Being the face of Bongo with Ashley, on the latest cover of Cosmopolitan, hosting Fashion Night Out next month, signing a record deal etc. 2012 has been a great year for her so far.

As for "pushing" Troian at the TCA's, some people are blowing that WAY out of proportion. If you watch the video you'll see that when Ashley went to speak she accidently nudged Lucy with her shoulder and squished her a little. Sure she could have handled it better, but she just wanted Troian to move a bit to give her room. Troian is close to Lucy and I'm betting she didn't take offense to Lucy's little nudge. There's no reason for anyone else to either.

I wouldn't say Lucy is ALWAYS front and center for interviews, but my guess is in some of the cases it's because she's the shortest. Also, who's to say it was HER decision to be front or center? Often it's up to the coordinators of the interviews/shoots. I remember people giving her crap for speaking first at the TCAs, but that was most likely what the producers had planned. And, who knows, maybe the other girls don't like having as much attention on them and would rather Lucy take it.

There's one thing I will partially agree with you on - though, for different reasons - and that is that PLL is the worst thing that's happened to her. It's great because she's more recognizable now (which, as I've said, I LOVE that she's becoming more famous/successful). But it's bad because the show has gotten awful and the writers treat Lucy like crap. She deserves much much better material to work with.

I never watch award shows, or interviews with the cast, or read interviews or twitter. So I have no idea what Lucy is like as a person. Personally, though, I HATE Aria with a passion!

I hate that everyone loves Aria. She doesn't help out with the mystery. Whenever one of the Liars is trying to talk to her about their issues, she ignores them completely before saying, "I'm having trouble with Ezra..." I hate that their romance is supposed to be 'epic' and yet they've broken up a thousand times, only to be reunited with a cheesy kiss in the rain. I hate how Aria became so defiant towards her parents (threatening to get Byron fired, threatening to run away, etc) just because they didn't allow her to see Ezra. I hate that she left Spencer at a party without a ride because she had to see Ezra. She's a terrible friend and an even worse daughter. I don't see how anyone can like her character.
