I really don't see it and don't think he will become this big star they are trying to turn him into. Looks like another Taylor Kitsch.

shareDisagree. I think it more so depends on your age range. Both Chalamet (not sure if you purposely spelled his name wrong as some kind of drag) and Zendaya seem to have the obsessive fan types that will watch and follow their careers for them.
I don’t see the Dune movies being as big as they are if other actors played their roles but who knows. And If you don’t consider them to have that “X-factor” then who do you consider to have it from this newer generation?
are you kidding me they have been standouts in Dune Part 1 & 2 thanks Villeneuve Dune Part 2 is still the 2024 Film Of The Year so far.

So they try to pick up men and women to make them new stars. Not understanding that era of big box office grosses is over. You can't make person movie star by just casting her everywhere and writing about her.
Glen Powell is nice. As supporting guy. He is not lead. That Anyone but You was a moderate success because of very small budget. And Glen will not bring full theaters with every movie. That Twisters movie will flop. Will get like 30-40 on opening on a 200 millions budget. Even Will Smith could only bring 53 millions for new Bad Boys.

Over $80 million opening weekend for Twisters, the best-ever opening weekend for a natural disaster movie. We'll see how well it does this weekend with Deadpool out but it's had a much better opening than you predicted and more than Will Smith's Bad Boys 4 opening weekend.

The guy got a lucky break with a pivotal role in Maverick, is good looking and a decent actor. He is capitalising on the popularity of his name after Top Gun and hopefully him and his agent will choose the right movies to keep him on this good trajectory.
