Fading Fast
I was one of the first Tony Jaa fans in the U.S long before too many people knew who he was. And it saddens me that he was one of the first to be doing all that he does, Now you see a ton of watered-down replicas springing up left and right, yet Jaa's Ong Bak (2003) still holds supreme. But Tony only has himself to blame. He got frustrated and left to become a monk. Now he has come back and any real fan could immediately notice his moves are slower, clumsier and safer. He has missed his prime years. Now the only Tony movies we are ever going to see will include tons of slower movement, recycled moves or wires and CGI. Everything that the first "Ong Bak" was against!
Jackie Chan is a shining example of smart movie fighter strategy. Basically flood the market! Three or more movies a year. You are an ACTION star, dangit! Not Robert De Niro. Do them while you still can maneuver. Muay Thai and acrobatics are definitely a young mans game.
