Where is her Emmy nomination ?
Seriously it is long overdue.
Jennifer is amazing in Dexter. Why nominating the same people over and over , years after years, and ignoring obvious choices like Jennifer?

I couldn't agree more. Jennifer is really excellent as Debra Morgan on Dexter.
shareEmmy?? Really? She's the reason why I don't give this show a 10/10.
Wow, so she swears a lot and acts tough, but that doesn't warrant any Emmy...an Emmy for Jennifer Carpenter??
I may be biased because I find character extremely annoying; however, I doubt she could play such an annoying character without being that way in real life. The way she talks isn't acting, it's just an unfortunate birth defect. Her mouth is on the side of her face, not on the front...where it's supposed to be. And that lisp....ugh!! She has to be the most annoying character on TV.
The best acting are all these guys who fall in love with her on the show...they should win Emmy's.
Here, here. I just become more and more impressed with her with each passing season. She has really developed into this role. She is amazing.
shareI predict she'll get nominated for this season. The whole incest storyline has her doing her best work of the series.
The main problem with the Emmy's is that a lot of people don't watch the performances they are nominating. Ellen Burstyn got nominated for a 14 second performance in Mrs. Harris, which exposed how flawed the Emmy system is. Year ago, S. Epatha Merkerson made the top 10 in best supporting actress for Law and Order, in a season that she had minimal screen time.
A large number of Emmy voters just look for the names they are familiar with. That's why Julia Stiles has a nomination for Dexter and not Jennifer. Hopefully enough people are actually watching the show this year so she can finally get nominated.
She always appears to be working so hard as she acts on Dexter. I haven't seen any of her other roles to compare with, but I have a hard time sitting thru her numerous serious scenes with Michael Hall, she is just so labored in her style. Ughhh.
sharehave you ever seen her interviewed? she couldnt be any more removed from Deb if she tried. That to me shows she is doing a good job
sharethat doesnt mean shes doing a good job, so whoever plays a serial killer in a movie by default is doing a good job b/c they are so different from that character
