No. Her character's a total drama queen. She plays it great.

Yeah, I get what you mean, because I think she is a bit over the top in "The Middle", but it really works for Sue so I think she's really good. It's hard to explain but she gets it right. Sue's character is over the top the way she talks and everything.

It's just proof that you're a smallminded, intolerant person.

Her character is meant to relentlessly optimistic and energetic, thus annoying - up to a point. Her acting is perfect.

Also, she happens to be the most popular character/actress on that show, precisely for those qualities: her irrepressible optimism and the way she takes in one failure after another and never gives up.

Not bad qualities in a fictional character. Even better ones in real people. You just happen not to be one of them.

She plays her part very well and in my opinion she's the star of the show.

All the kids on the show do an excellent job by sitcom standards.

Is it possible to overact teenage girls? They're shrill and annoying, it would seem ridiculously idealized if she wasn't.

i have to agree. she is much more refreshing than the hot teen texting bitch that is all over TV. i think she is so funny and very talented beyond her years as an actress. her portrayal of sue heck is perfect and like mentioned before, all the kids on the show are great, but her performance takes the cake. her choices are great. an example, the scene where her boyfriend asks her out on a valentine's day date and she responds with, "i am not. i am not at all!" makes me chuckle whenever i think of it. keep it going, eden!
