Why does he always play messed up characters?

In the House at the End of the Street and Bates Motel Thieriot plays really messed up characters and he's totally believable. Even as a kid in The Pacifier he seemed like a disturbed kid at first and I totally bought it.

i don't know why but that jimmy dean aura fits him like a glove.

he's awesome in bates motel and i think i'm a little bit obsessed with him from that show.

put him in some more movies - the camera loves him!

Because if you want to work as an actor, you must take the roles that are offered and do what you are told.

Max has his moments like when Norma told Dylan about Caleb,Max did a job,but he needs to show more emotion, lately he has not been showing enough emotion

Because I think he plays those sort of roles so brilliantly. I am currently watching him in 'Bates Motel' and he's awesome in that. I liked him in 'House at the end of the Street', and hope to see more of his work soon. Great actor!

What I saw, the fight--and the episode--ended with him on his back on the floor, with his mouth agape in shock. What kind of response was he supposed to have?

He doesn't have to work; he CHOOSES to work, and he chooses roles that are ones he finds appealing. E.g. "Hunk #3" or "Hot Guy in Bar" would not attract him. He's interested in the work, not in stardom.

Oh, but he DOES have to work if he wants to eat and pay his mortgage to keep a roof over his head, doesn't he.

And the supply of actors far exceeds the numbers roles that cast each year. That is why the average income of SAG members from acting is less than $10,000 per year, which is below the federal poverty level set for California.

Actors do not call the shots. PRODUCERS call the shots.

And he does not get a role unless he first AUDITIONS for the role. Then the PRODUCERS decide if THEY want HIM. He does not get the role he auditioned for unless the PRODUCERS offer it to him.

That, uncle George, is how things work in the film and TV biz.
