Meet Janina Gavankar - June 2009!

STARFURY Conventions is delighted to announce that our events for fans of THE L WORD will continue on into 2010 with STARFURY: L7. As the name implies, this will be our seventh UK event for fans of THE L WORD.

STARFURY: L7 will be taking place on 25-27 June 2010, at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel. This new venue is easily the best hotel that we have held an event at. Situated next to Birmingham Airport and Train Station, just off the M6, it is also very easy to get to. We also have negotiated a very competitive room rate for attendees, at £65 per night for a twin or double room.

As the venue is smaller than the Norbreck, there will be fewer tickets available for this event. But this will result in a more intimate and fun experience for attendees. And we still plan to have at least 6 guests. So far three have already signed up, and we're in negotiations for 3 more.

Ticket prices will be as follows:
- Gold Ticket: £160 (very limited)
- Regular Ticket: £90
- One Day Ticket: £45 (no autographs included)

Our thanks to everyone who has shown such amazing support for the L-WORD conventions that STARFURY runs. Within the first 24 hours of tickets for STARFURY: L7 going on sale, over two thirds of the Gold Tickets were sold! If you haven't purchased your ticket yet, and want to go for Gold, then you should consider getting them soon as they aren't going to be available for much longer!

The plan is to have six great guests at STARFURY: L7. Most of them are already signed up! But who are they?

The first guest for STARFURY: L7 is:

LAUREN LEE SMITH

Lauren is known an loved be all fans of the L-WORD as Lara, a character that she portrayed accross the first three seasons of the show. She also appeared in the TV series MUTANT X and has just finished a season working on America's number 1 rated show, CSI. She has also appeared in the films PATHOLOGY, LIE WITH ME and TRICK R TREAT.

When she was a guest at STARFURY: L4, she was absolutely awesome, being very approachable and gravious towards to attendees, and partying at the disco each night. With a guest like Lauren at the event, we're guaranteed a great experience.

The second guest for STARFURY: L7 is:

LEISHA HAILEY

As Alice, Leisha is unquestionably one of the most popular stars of THE L WORD, so it'll be a delight to welcome her back.

The third guest for STARFURY: L7 is:

CLEMENTINE FORD

Clementine has appeared in 9 episodes accross the fourth, fifth and sixth seasons of the show as Molly Kroll. She has also appeared in HOUSE MD, CROSING JORDAN and is currently on THE YOUNG AND RESTLESS. This will be her first appearance at an L-Event, and she's very excited about attending.

The fourth guest for STARFURY: L7 is:

JANINA GAVANKAR

Janina was Papi during the fourth and sixth season of THE L WORD, and has also appeared in STARGATE: ATLANTIS and DOLLHOUSE. She was a huge hit with fans at L5, and I've had tons of requests to see her back at another event.

And don't forget, STARFURY: L6 will be taking place from 18-20 September 2009 at the Norbreck Castle Hotel. We're capping the number of tickets available, so if you haven't bought your tickets yet, then I'd advise that you get them now! All of the Gold Tickets are gone, and currently there are less than 100 regular tickets left, and fewer than 20 Saturday Only tickets.

Our guests for this event, subject to professional commitments, are Kate Moennig (Shane McCutcheon), Mia Kirshner (Jenny Schecter), Pam Grier (Kit Porter), Rose Rollins (Tasha Williams), Alexandra Hedison (Dylan Moreland) and Guinevere Turner (Gabby Deveaux).

Sean Harry has very generously allowed us to raffle off the only remaining Gold Ticket to Starfury: L7 to raise money for the charity Barnardos.

This Gold Ticket will give you everything a Regular Ticket will, but also include access to the Meet & Greet and priority in the Autograph and Photo Sessions.

The raffle is simple. Each entry costs only £3.00 (so if you donate £9.00 you will get three entries), and to enter all you have to do is donate here:

The only requirement is that in the comment box you enter nothing but 'L7', and that you tick the "Let this person see my contact details" box. This is so we can pass on your details to Sean if you win. It will ask you for this after you've made the donation.

Entries will be taken up to (and including) October 31st 2009, and the winner will be contacted on November 1st 2009.

This is a great opportunity to raise some money for an amazing charity, so please let everyone you can know about the raffle. Feel free to post this anywhere online, such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
