Did not recognize her at all

I first started to watch Janina in L Word. I thought she was good in that role, and I thought it was good for the show to add diversity to the cast. So, the other day I wanted to check out her IMDB page, and I noticed that she was in True Blood. I also watch that show, (although I am behind one season) . But, I could not place who her character is on the show... When, I saw that it was Lana, I was surprised. I know the character of Lana, but I did not for one second make the connection that it was Papi from The L Word... I guess that is a credit to her acting skills

Yeah I don't know what is about this woman but she embodies different characters so well that it's as if she is a whole new person. I too was first introduced to her on the L word as Papi. Then on true blood as Luna...For her entire stay on that series I felt like I knew her but she was so different that my brain just didn't register that they were the same person. It wasn't until I was looking up another one of her characters on the show the gates that I realized she was the actress for all of them. I figured that would have been that, but she did it again most recently on the vampire diaries. From the moment her character appeared I kept saying I knew the actress. But she was so different in the role that I just couldn't make the connection.
