Because she wants to look white. :( I'm Indian too and I don't buy it at all when Indian people they just prefer the lighter color. There's a reason they prefer it - Eurocentric beauty ideals. There's nothing wrong with beautiful naturally dark eyes. I wear mine proudly.

Yeh. I have Indian friends and they are beautiful the way they are. It's so sad that she doesn't. It looks like she's had anise job too. So sad.

You assume this. Just because she uses colored contact lenses sometimes doesn't mean she is not proud of being Indian, many women use colored contact lenses, change their hair color, etc.

Pretty sure she uses some skin lightening treatment too. She was much darker in that Miss world competition.

You assume that she is.

And my point is: when you see a white woman who uses tanning lotion, and/or dyes her hair, and/or uses colored contact lenses, do you judge her and assume that she doesn't want to be white? Among whites for example, some women prefer to be pale, others prefer to be darker and tanned. Also, just like other races, some white women naturally have a paler skin, and others are darker, and sometimes the ones who have a darker skin tone want to be paler while the pale ones want to be darker.

It doesn't matter what race you are, many women like to modify their appearance, you don't have to dramatise and assume that she's trying to look less Indian.
