Any news on his production company TV deal

Months ago I read an article on an American site mentioning a US company was excited about releasing the news of a project with Benedict's Production Company. It was a drama not a documentary. Still no confirmation on this. Has anyone seen anything about it. It was different to the deal he has with StudioCanal.

Well there hasn't been much opportunity for another project to go into production for the last little while, and seemingly not for the next little while either, so maybe there's not a lot of reason to be too public about what's coming next yet or about other projects that may be in development.

Presumably BC will be be moving on the Infinity Wars filming after "The Current War". So it's not too likely that there'll have been a scheduling opportunity before about June. Personally, I suspect that "The War Magician" isn't going to be too far down the line.

But I vaguely remember some comment to the effect that a new project announcement was imminent too. Was that not StudioCanal? Who was it then? Does anyone recall?

I got the wrong end of the stick. It was this article I was remembering

I had thought that Studio Canal were only interested in Benedict's production company from a film point of view.

There were some interesting further details in this earlier article about the Sunny March association with Studio Canal.

Cumberbatch will have an active role in some projects. “There are some projects that he is heavily in the development stages and he is in all of the meetings, and there are some that he is less involved in but may be later, so it’s very organic.” Cumberbatch and Studiocanal are already working together on the WWII drama The War Magician, in which Cumberbatch is set to star and which Sunny March is producing together with Storyscape Ent. and Lonetree Ent.

“It thrills me that a studio of the quality of Studiocanal wants to partner with us ... and make new content, diverse stories for multiplatforms and create a wing of its entertainment outreach with us. ... It’s terribly exciting,” Cumberbatch said in a recorded video message. “It’s a brilliant partnership and I can’t think of anyone that would be better suited to what we want to achieve, and I can’t wait to be as active a part of that as possible.”

"We are working with some incredibly big stakes on some big title projects,” which they will announce soon said Sunny March producer Adam Ackland. While the newly-launched company will need time to ramp up production, they hope to have two projects off the ground within two years. “We aspire to make things for the U.K. that will expand internationally,” said Ackland.

That was April 2016, though, and the "big stakes" "big titles" were supposed to have been announced "soon" THEN. But I suppose "soon" is relative to the long gestation period for such things, with the two year specification for two projects being particularly noteworthy. Are those two projects inclusive of The War Magician though? Interesting too that it sounds as if there are a lot of projects theoretically in development already.

But I'd like the Patrick Melrose adaptations to be in there too. I suspect they are actually. And was that "Rogue Male" announcement definitely re a film or could that have been to do with this arm of Studio Canal?

I wonder if SunnyMarch is still planning that movie about the Victorian cat painter.
