I'd like to see him in a film romance before his kids end up in Uni!!!

I know when he's older he'll be gorgeous silver fox on screen but with the list of films he has ahead of him there's no sign of a romance. I'd love to see him In a full on romantic film. I suppose they are a tad out of fashion these days but if one could be weaved into a great story (A thriller for example) I'd certainly see it in the cinema.

He does not seem like the type to make romantic comedies, but I can be wrong. I have not seen all of his films, but I do agree with you that I hope that he would make a romantic thriller one day soon.

He did romance before. Parade's End, Wreckers, The last enemy, To the end of the earth all have love stories and even sex scenes.

Respect my Cumberbatch!

There's also an argument to be made that Sherlock is very romantic, as well. Not sexually, but tons of heart!

I see the OP's point though. None of those films were focused on romance, even if there was a scene or two.

Have a lovely day - John Finnemore

I should say that I don't mean I want a romantic comedy but a more serious grown up romance. I know Rogue Male will touch on one but it won't be a large part of the story.

Jillian-533 said He does not seem like the type to make romantic comedies, but I can be wrong. But I seem to recall that BC did say something, back in the day, to the effect that he would actively like to do a romantic comedy. That might have reflected something that was potentially on the table at the time, as he was want to hint at occasionally. Or it might have been about just wanting to prove that he could turn his hand to that as well as anyone, in much the same way as he also quite wanted to do an action man type role. Since I'm not sure he's as likely to think he needs to prove anything to anyone these days, though, he might not be so inclined now. It would all depend on the script of course. And if he really wants to do something of that ilk, then one would suppose that Sunny March might produce one. In truth, though, whatever he said, I don't think he would be best suited for the romantic genre standard. That doesn't mean there couldn't be an example that would suit him. Long ago, it was mentioned that there was a remake of "The Thin Man" in the works, albeit in development hell, and that's the type of things he could possibly do.

But there'll surely be a romantic element to Strange come the next film, anyway, as one assumes they'll be introducing Clea. And I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a romantic element written in to the Jasper Maskelyne tale.
