Rant! Click bait BS

I am getting really sick and tired of all the half-a$$ed, click baiting that passes for journalism. The first 20 news articles about Ben are all stupid garbage!

Sherlock's cancelled, Ben's schedule is causing problems for Marvel, his entire performance in Infinity War is a body double.

We need to pass a global law that fines "news sources" $25K for every piece of misinformation spread around the internet. Who's with me? Get your pitchforks and buckets of tar!

Ben's schedule is causing problems for Marvel

This is one I believe. They shouldn't single out Benedict though, if Marvel wants 70 characters in a film who are all portrayed by more or less in-demand actors then they should have (and most likely did) expected scheduling problems. 

I don't have BC or anyone on Google alert, and I don't have Twitter or Tumblr, so I normally don't have much issue with click bait simply cause I don't see it haha. But every site is so desperate for hits.

I don't search for him anymore. Just for the projects.

The Marvel thing is very crazy. I'm almost sure that most people who wrote those articles understand how films work, that it will be a long shooting and that there are a lot of actors in it but they still divulged that lie. Just for clicks! I was amazed that they suggested his role would be short in the movie because apparently other actor would play the role during the entire movie or something (?) when the first thing I thought when I read the original article was that maybe it would be at least long enough to need his character so early in the shooting and just couldn't wait for him. Of course it could be also related to conflict schedule with the other actors (they are a LOT!) but I'm perplexing why it would suggest the role is so short that could be played by another actor. In that case why not wait for him to finish his role in the indie movie.

I guess what we hate is not so much seeing the articles ourselves, but knowing that people casually looking up information on Benedict find misleading and BS articles like these that form their opinions of him.

Like someone said on a similar recent thread here, it does make me think a little more about my impressions of other people in the news that I am not as familiar with as Benedict. There are many people who are vilified, or at least belittled, by the media that are perfectly lovely people in real life.
