Article: Sherlock Holmes and The Case of Internet Hate

I haven't read this entire article yet, but after skimming it I thought you all might be interested in it.

One of the best bits:
...Except that he isn’t, just like Gatiss and Moffat aren’t amateur fan-fiction writers or reddit trolls whose writing is so fresh out of depth and research that they have to plug the gaps with fan service. Let us not flatter ourselves. The showrunners of this series are certifiable Doyle scholars and any pandering on their part to our comment thread-based demands is their gracious thank you to our obsessive Tumblr-laden affections. “The Final Problem” is an incandescent display of their mastery over the retelling of an age-old story.

What a lovely article! Thanks so much for posting it! It's the intelligent, well-written counterpart to that hate article posted here earlier. I don't know if this author is a professional writer, but she certainly sounds like she is. Maybe it's just so refreshing to read something coherent for a change!

Thanks for posting this. I found it earlier on the net and I do think it is a fitting reply to the other bit posted by the disgruntled JL fan.

" "The Final Problem" is an incandescent display of their mastery over the retelling of an age-old story." Sing it out!
