Movie idea for Benedict

This is a reboot of the obscure 80s series Manimal. In this version, Dr. Jonathan Chase (Benedict Cumberbatch) has to stop a fellow colleague, Dr. Peter Olsen (Mads Mikkelsen), from mutating people with his DNA. He has a teenage daughter named Jessica (Jennifer Rose), with his wife Brooke McKenzie (Elizabeth Banks), who is in awe of his abilities, but is rather wary of her own powers. She's also good friends with Dr. Olsen's daughter, Ashley (Abigail Breslin.) However, she's secretly using her to get information about her father, who wants to kidnap her for his own gain. She's not really mean, though- just following Daddy's orders.

Oh, and Dr. Chase's middle name is Darwin.

Hmmm, is BC meant to have the morphing powers that the lead of Manimal used to have? I used to love the episodes where he wd turn into a black panther.

If Manimal does ever get rebooted they should go with an origin story. They should probably set it in the 1920s or something but make him speak with knowledge of modern scientific knowledge so that turning into an animal actually adds to his knowledge when he's a human. It cd fo well in this age because he's actually a mutant superhero without that label.
