It sounds like he made up the indigenous heritage for his role. Hahaha.

Indigenous People alleges that Taylor Lautner’s Native American roots are not as deep as they’ve been made out to be:

“Reliable insider sources, who preferred to stay anonymous, state Taylor Lautner’s Agent, was overheard in commenting during a conversation regarding Taylor Lautner’s Native American heritage, “Well, we had to work around that. We had to fudge it. No one will know the difference.”

As far as I know he's like 1/8 Native American or something like that but honestly he looks like he could be 1/4

Well it's Native Americans who are saying he's not - indigenous people who have a right to call bullshit on him.

Lautner also claims he didn't know he was part Native American until he was doing research for the film. If he didn't know, how can he claim heritage? It all sounds rather suspect. It's kinda like all the stark white folks who claim to be descended from a Cherokee Princess! 🤣

I dunno, he looks Italian to me when he's not dressed up for the role. (Cute boy though. 🤣)

I know in the Twilight films each Native American actor had to show proof of heritage of some kind. I don't remember reading anything saying he was half Native American, I think there's def something in there but the details seem rather vague

Yes. Basically the warewolves are in a Quilette tribe, Jacob (played by Taylor Lautner) is one of the main characters and is part of the love triangle

In the movie it's just one tribe and they're essentially supposed to be modeled after American Indians played by American Indian actors

Those guys are not Native Americans lol. One is Mexican. One's Asian. And then there's a bunch of white boys.

Weird. All I remember reading is that they were required to show documents of some heritage, but I don't think they had to be fully Native American so they could be mixed
