And frankly the only reason I've continued watching The Show Without End. I don't really care about Linden and her issues, but Holder rocks. Kinnaman rocks.

As much as I enjoy the character and his little quips, I do wonder if he is modeling his performance on Aaron Paul.
Julie_Julii, I saw an interview in which Joel said that he went to an American high school his senior year. He hung out with African-American and Hispanic students. He developed an interest in their cultures. He created Holder's manner of speaking from that experience.
I don't pick up a Jesse Pinkman vibe. There are a couple similarities - meth use and speaking "street language," (although different types) but, IMO, the similarities stop there.
Two interesting characters (Holder and Pinkman) but I don't think either of them is derivative of the other.
