He's lucky he's good looking. He's just such a bad actor

He's just plain awful in everything. He's not good in comedy, he's laughable in Drama, he's barely passable in action. Besides being good looking I don't get his appeal. His younger brother Liam is even worse.

I am a Chi Omega. I lead. I serve. I give.

Have you seen Rush? Or In The Heart of The Sea? Or Thor? Chris is a fantastic actor. He is undeniably attractive, but he also can act the bloody hell out of any scene offered to him thus far.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

reply

Yeah, people keep bringing up rush, he can't ride on that movie forever. Its like m night shymalan, he did a great unexpected hit with signs, but after that it went to hell and unbelievably bad. The village, lady in the water, avatar, after earth. His bad outweighs the good obviously.

Chris is likeable, but blackhat, in the heart of the sea, the second huntsman, its just bad flop after flop, it seems like he knows it might fail, but does it knowing its probably going to be panned by critics. He takes to many chances with directors and roles, he needs to chose wisely at this point.

Well, he has to ride the franchise machine for as long as he can because no one is going to spend any more money on him for an original or remotely risky project because he can't bring in the $$$, and that is all Hollywood really cares when they invest millions and millions into you.

It's a testament to his talent and his character that he picks such good directors and roles. What actor would turn down a chance to work with Michael Mann, or Ron Howard? I didn't like Snow White and the Huntsman, but the cast was excellent and I hear Charlize Theron and CH were contracted to do the sequel before the first film came out.

reply

Again, he hops on a project because he thinks the director is good so the movie has to be, look how good thats come about. It hasn't blackhat was DOA so either way he needs to take a break and get advice from other individuals with experience in directing and producing. The script is what it is, but he has to realize at some point when reading that it might fail.

reply

Agree. He's not a good actor.

reply

I think Chris is the victim of some sort of reverse bias that causes people to think he MUST be a had actor simply because he is damned gifted physically. In reality, he is a good enough actor to be authentically believable as Thor -- which I think means he is pretty darned good.

reply

Nah... Leo DiCaprio, DeNiro, Brad Pitt, etc. all are extraordinarily good looking at their prime, but not many people think they must be bad actors. Chris Hemsworth is simply a very good looking but average actor.
