The disgraced former Access Hollywood and Today co-host "is close to locking down a deal that will bring him back to television after a two-year absence following his ousting from NBC," according to The Blast. Bush is said to be in talks to join Extra when it makes the jump from NBC to Fox stations this fall, reports The Blast, adding that he's one of several new hosts considered for the re-launch of the syndicated entertainment show. Mario Lopez currently hosts Extra with Renee Bargh and Tanika Ray. Bush previously worked on Extra early in his career. Bush famously lost his NBC gigs after the Donald Trump Access Hollywood tape surfaced one month before the 2016 presidential election. He made a brief "apology tour" in December 2017, appearing on Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
This is mostly just someone saying in the most long-winded way possible, "The guy annoys me, so I think he's a dick."
In any case, Billy Bush may be a total asshole in real life, but if NBC wanted to fire him then they should've come up with a better reason to do it. Because the Trump tape is not a very good reason considering Billy Bush barely speaks on it. The tape is 90% Trump talking shit and Billy just listening in. Basically, Billy got punished for not screaming, "This is an outrage!" and trying to fight Trump or whatever it is that people like to pretend they would've done if they were in his shoes.
This is not even to mention the fact that the tape was 11 years old.
I did for Bridesmaids with somebody who later lost his job for a conversation he had on a bus with someone else. I won’t mention names, but just think about it. He kept asking, “Are you shocked that you actually work in this business at your tremendous size?”

He was like, “Oh, your tremendous size, you can actually work?” I just remember all the blood drained out of me. I thought, “With my tremendous size, I could tackle you so quickly.” There were two cameras on him, and one was on me, and he went back to that question three or four times, and I just kept talking about the script or how fun Paul Feig was. He was looking around like, “She’s crazy.” When we left, their producer was horrified and said, “We’ll never play what he said. I’m so sorry.” But it happens all the time, to the point where it’s fascinating because they don’t do it to men. Not to be a jerk or single him out, but when John Goodman was heavier, did anybody ever talk about his girth?
