She uses the same voice every single time

I mean what's the point? They keep giving her voice acting work and she keeps using the same exact voice so...does that count as voice acting because to me that's more like a narration. I first learned about her from Bobs Burgers, then I kept hearing her exact voice pop up in so many other things, why?

reply

I don't think you know what voice acting is.

reply

I think the reason they hire her is because of her voice specifically.....

reply

this may sound crazy but hear me out.... maybe they sign her, for her voice,

That's actually just what her voice sounds like, I go to her live stand up comedy shows that the have at The Virgil every Monday night, her voice is actually really interesting and expressive as well as comical so that's why they pick her, for the specific voice she happens to be born with/use well. In that sense no she doesn't have to try very hard to get her voice into character but whoever casts her does it for a reason.

reply

Yep. She's a one trick pony. You hear her and think about the actress and not the character - which is the last thing any production should want.

reply

I get what you're saying. Yes, maybe she was hired specifically for her voice (whether it's real is neither here nor there). But that does not make her a voice actor. An actor is someone who can convincingly play different roles, different characters with different personalities. A voice actor can play different characters with *different* voices. I agree with you. Her voice is unique, and recognizable, but I don't hear her doing anything special.

Nobody wants to hear the weepy song of a Hobgoblin.

Second post you've called her a Hobgoblin. At least come up with some new insults.
