He's annoyed me with his bland performances in the past, particularly singe-handedly ruining 'Godzilla' but he is simply incredible in 'Nocturnal Animals'. My review here - https://thefilmmeister.com/2016/11/22/nocturnal-animals-review/

The Savages, Nowhere Boy, Mr. Hobbs, he has been wonderful.

Didn't know it was him in Nocturnal Animals till I came home from the theater to look up who he was.

I thought he was good in Anna Karenina also. Especially at such a young age
