He got trophy-husbanded and lost female fan base immediately which is very important to become a legit star in Hollywood. But whatever he did, it's on him 100%. Poor guy....

I don't think he's "done" just yet. He has Nocturnal Animals premiering at Venice Film Festival this year. We'll see what the critics think of him then.
