Megan objectified herself. But why?

Contrary to belief she wasn't discovered by Michael Bay. She had a modest career before that appearing in sitcoms and teen movies. She could have continued he career in a similar direction eventually graduating to more mature roles when her acting improved as with her resume. But instead she choose to strip down for men's magazines and then got involved with Michael Bay in a near humiliating role as strictly ''eye candy''. She then got plastic surgery to ''look the part'' of a sex symbol and changed her style. But why? and why should she complain about what she chose to do?

I think it's fair/accurate that Bay is credited with discovering her because she was an unknown bit actress & he made her a household name & the "hottest woman alive" with one movie. Also, even though he didn't cast her in her huge breakout role until a few years later, Bay actually discovered her as far back as 2002, during the infancy of her career where she had only done some obscure failed tv show & a bit part in a straight to video Olsen Twin movie.

Exactly she disappeared after doing Don't Breathe. Megan still has a bunch of movies to be in.

I don't think Blake Lively will do any more movies. So that gives Megan at least 5 more years on film.

Maybe she decided to disappear. It wouldn't surprise me if actors gtfo out of hollyweird after making some bank and then live comfortably after that.

Most of Fox's attention has been because of her sex symbol status. She's not a terrible actress, IMO, but nothing remarkable either.

And she already looked the part of a sex symbol and was seen as a sex symbol before she altered her looks. I'm not sure why she did it, if she was getting bad advice or what. It certainly wasn't necessary. Maybe she thought she'd look even better?

Doing some cheesecake pics for men's magazines has never harmed other actresses careers as far as I can tell, so I'm not sure why you blame that for any kind of a downturn. It's not like showing off a little leg and midriff in GQ is going to cause a woman to no longer be seen as a respectable actress anymore.

I don't think you get it. When Megan did FHM when she was 19 the pictures were shot in a borderline porn-y way. She was obviously trying hard to offer herself up as strictly sex status rather than a working actress. This was also the time she got cast in ''Transformers''. She didn't have to lower herself to that. Also the sex symbol title as many used to post on the old IMDB boards about Megan is such a fleeting thing. A sexy actress is easily replaceable by another model or actress.

You're right, I don't get it. Like I already wrote, plenty of actresses have "lowered" themselves to that. And she wasn't offering herself as strictly sex status. She was getting into mainstream movies at the time. It was the sex symbol status that had a lot to do with her getting a part like the one she had in Transformers. In fact, I'd be very surprised if they didn't have a "sex symbol" type in mind for it. The whole sex symbol thing actually had a lot to do with her getting those parts.

I disagree that doing sexy stuff like that means an actress won't be taken seriously, either. Natalie Portman has done some spicy stuff, and she's about as respected as you get.

cuz she's got nothing else to offer. When have you thought of Megan Fox as a classy girl? As a Award winning girl? As a scholar girl? When has she done dramas or not used her body in some way in her roles, magazines, to get ahead? Her career is in the past. Has she ever evolved?
