Maybe a little? Ironic that Thomas Sangster and Skander Keynes both tried out for Nanny McPhee. Sangster got the role of the older boy and Skander got the Narnia role.
sharePippa Hall was the casting director for both films. LWW pretty much had the roles of Peter, Susan, and Lucy cast, but they couldn't find an Edmund that they liked. Pippa first saw Skandar Keynes when he auditioned for Nanny McPhee and knew the moment she saw him that he was Edmund.....so she's confessed in interviews that she hoped and prayed Skandar wouldn't get the part. He didn't.....it went to Thomas.
Sooooo, once Skandar lost the role, she was free to go after him for the role of Edmund in LWW. What's interesting is that William Moseley and Anna Popplewell went through two years of auditions and Georgie Henley went through a year and a half of auditions. Skandar walked in and basically had the part the first time he read for it.
I think Thomas and Skandar are both very talented. It would be cool to see them in something together!
Cool story! Can't really argue with Skandar Keynes as Edmund.
