Emmy for House of Cards

I know it is early but if Stoll doesn't win the best supporting actor Emmy it'll be a crime. He was just utterly fantastic in the series and his all-too-human flawed performance was what will stay with me from season 1 more than anything else by FAR. It's been a long time since an actor almost made me cry, but Stoll did it. I hope he wins the emmy and many other awards in a long and successful career.

Interesting. I wonder how they will handle this if it should garner enough attention to prod the emmy and globe folks?

I hate that all of the wonderful HBO and showtime series get all these awards, yet I have never seen them (I cannot afford extended cable and watch little TV in general) or I have to wait until they are on Netflix or dvd to see them. By then all the hype is gone.

Now that there is only one way to see this show, will it get any respect? Is it considered a TV series?

Interesting questions. At least for once, I feel like an insider, in on a really great show.

(I just posted this in another thread, sorry...)

I agree 1000%. He brought such humanity to the role of a basically decent guy who simply has too many personal demons to survive in such a take-no-prisoners environment as Washington politics.

He was indeed the best thing in a great series. I too hope he wins. He deserves it.

Not even nominated... frustrating.

I can't believe he wasn't nominated. His storyline engaged me more than any other in the show, and it was because of his brilliant, affecting performance.
I also didn't even realize he played Ernest Hemingway in Midnight in Paris, one of the best characters in that film!

I agree that he was fantastic. I went from hating him to feeling sorry for him.

I just got done watching House of Cards through Ep. 11. I don't recall ever seeing this actor before but you can bet I will be following him closely from now on. I agree with you, lxa00, about starting out hating him but then coming to actually admire him. When he was on the wagon you could see what kind of man he could have been. He was able to convert people who were against him and get them on his side. He could have been great. That is what makes his story line so incredibly sad and he played it perfectly. He should have received an Emmy nom. Russo was screwed yet again!

It sucks that he wasn't nominated. I'm on episode 6 and I think he's the most interesting character on a very "been there, done that" show. Spacey's great, but he could have played that character in his sleep. Stoll had the more complex role.
