Mahershala Ali to Star in 'Blade' Reboot for Marvel

Yeah I know, I'm actually excited for this believe it or not. Ali is an inspired choice for "Blade" They couldn't have done better (for once). The only thing that would make me happier if they included Dracula himself (From the Tomb of Dracula) in this film, then I'll be all set.

For once it looks like a reboot won't be f%*ked up & might actually turn out well if not better. Ali is going to kill it, but let's wait & see.

He's got Wesley Snipe's blessing. That counts for a lot.

Awesome choice! I think he is a tremendous actor. I wasn't excited at all for a Blade reboot, but with Ali as Blade, I am certainly looking forward to it.

Solid actor but a very "meh" choice for Blade. It's a very physical role and we're going from a trained actor & legit martial artist with Wesley Snipes to a 46 year old actor who hasn't really done any action that I'm aware of. Snipes was always going to be incredibly hard to replace anyway so If you don't have an actor who can bring legit physicality to a role like Blade then it's not going to work. Unfortunately I foresee extensive use of quick cuts and stunt doubles. All in all a very odd choice to "reboot" this franchise with a guy staring down 50 who isn't at all known for action.
