Why Dean Winters isn't a big screen star. His work in 'Oz' was perfect. He is able to swing from emotion to emotion and has a very unique, if sometimes unsettling presence.
Does anyone agree that Winter's seems to have been over looked by mainstream Hollywood directors, or do people in general think there are better actors that do smiler work to him ?
I wondered the same thing. Maybe his scope is limited though, he is great at that unsettling thing, but there's no shortage of disposable bad guys for movies. Maybe he needs to do a hero role to get the big film parts. He maybe has already, but I've only seen him in Oz and Rescue Me and both characters are played similarly.

shareI think it's matter of selling out in order to get ahead in Hollywood. Not to get all conspiratorial, but IMHO I think there is some truth to the selling your soul to get fame and riches. Perhaps Dean isn't one to do that. Maybe he likes the work he's getting.
