but seriously mrs doubtfire is a dumb light hearted family movie. not some holy grail masterpiece who cares what the sequel is like as long as it keeps the kids amused? and i highly doubt she would of been asked anyway.

there's been many child and adult actresses and actors who leave acting on their terms and never return at all. even if offered roles. some simply grow tired of it or lose interest altogether.
personally I feel most over-stay and should leave on a fairly high note right now!
I can (but won't) name several big name stars right now that just aren't as interesting as they once were. tastes and times change.
I imagine leaving when you see your star has slipped and most people are just not rooting for you anymore is a good thing. their real life happens behind the image anyway.
