Question on his TV series

He has created many tv shows. Does anyone know why on why he only writes the pilot and then virtually never participates with writing another episode. I do not hold it against him since he is still credited as the creator of the series and gets paid. It seems smart since you do not really have to do anything, but since you created the series I would think you would want a hand in the quality and the direction it takes.

Typically because he always seems to have multiple projects up and running at the same time.

Although having watched most of his shows they'd fare a lot better if he stayed the duration and saw them through.
