I have read some of your other posts and I must say, you seem like a very intelligent guy. You seem to be a fair, and unbiased black man. But I have a question for you. What do you think about Morgan Freeman's comments on racism and Black History Month? I personally have nothing against the month. I don't think it causes any harm, although I do find it a bit obsolete. I have to agree with Morgan though. How can we get past all this stuff if we are constantly reminded of it?
Like he said, the way to end racism is...STOP TALKING ABOUT IT! But at the same time I still feel there are injustices happening to black people out there. So its kind of hard NOT to talk about it but. I don't know, what do you think?

I didn't hear Morgan Freeman's comments, but Morgan is not a young punk who hollers racism because a white person doesn't say hello to them. He was alive when their was REAL racism; thus, his words should be respected, but unless they're in agreement with some young pro-black, knucklehead, in some circles, they won't be.
My feelings:
When BHM was first established in 1976, it was a good thing. People didn't make a big thing about it. It was about having pride in who you are, and continuing the legacy of our heroes who got us there in the first place. But with the years of regression of the black community - roughly 1985 to now - The meaning has become warped. It seems to be more about the exclusion, and spiting of white people than anything else. Thus, it's become rather silly, and it has created resentment among all races of people. That's not a good thing, because that resentment will manifest itself in a variety of ways. And for black people, ironically, that's bad. But I don't think it would be wise to eliminate it.
