Wanna know something? Like, do you really want to know something? Peep this. Mixed-race people experience racism. They witness their dark-skinned relatives experience racism. These experiences make them aware of living and navigating in a deeply segregated society. It can inspire them into spaces of activism because they have a perspective on both sides of the racial divide, and this can lead to an awareness of how much imbalance there truly is between blacks and whites, in ALL areas--educationally, economically, socially, politically.
Now, you want to know something that's really amazing? Peep this. Speaking out against racism like what Jesse is doing, has nothing to do with someone's skin color! WOW! Isn't that something? Light-skinned people can be just as passionate about challenging injustice as darker-skinned people. And guess what? It doesn't mean they're "seeking credibility" or "thundering racist venom". It just means they want equal rights for all people of color, dark and light.
WOW. Isn't reality incredible?
